Technical Buyer

Technical BuyerBreeze is hiring- join us! The Technical Buyer establishes contractual relationships with aircraft and engine parts suppliers who provide the greatest value to Breeze. They assist in sourcing activities for all aircraft and engine parts with the goal of achieving significant reductions in total cost of ownership. They also participate in the delivery of year-over-year productivity improvements while maintaining or improving service levels and reliability. Other responsibilities of the Technical Buyer include creating, issuing, monitoring, and analyzing purchase orders created for Technical Operations (Tech Ops); resolving PO issues with Tech Ops and Accounts Payable; and ensuring that Breeze's purchasing power is properly leveraged to minimize material costs.Here's What You'll DoAnalyze the technical operations business spare parts requirements and source cost-effective solutionsConduct sourcing events by developing statements of work, creating requests for proposals (RFPs), and managing the supplier proposal processSelect or recommend suppliers and negotiate and administer contractsCarry out activities associated with purchasing aircraft and engine materials, parts, supplies, and services to support the operational requirements while ensuring the terms are in Breeze's best interestPlan and execute purchases as required based on system-generated requisitionsManage pertinent purchase activities and information regarding part shortages, alternate suppliers, and delivery schedulesApply purchasing policies, corporate policies, and Sarbanes-Oxley controls (SOX) to ensure company compliance, accuracy, and reliability of corporate financial reporting statementsAssist with collecting forms (e.g., supplier profile questionnaire, tax identification) to process supplier contracts and paymentsProduce monthly spend category savings, project status, contract management, and SOX reportsMonitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligationsManage suppliers by conducting data analyses, conducting business review meetings, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with stated contract service levelsParticipate in the development and creation of policies, procedures, and process improvementsServe as the primary point of contact with suppliers and major subcontractorsOther duties as assignedAchieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and ExcellenceHere's What You Need To Be SuccessfulMinimum Qualifications4-year degree in a Business-related field, or equivalent experience in a purchasing role3 years' experience in a Purchasing role or similar business accounting/finance environmentPurchasing and contract negotiation experienceGeneral understanding of FAA regulations including FAR Part 121 operationsStrong analytical skills and a good understanding of spreadsheet modelingHigh performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibilityStrong attention to detail, organization, and time management skillsSelf-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for successComplete projects on time with minimal supervision; ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlinesMust have authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of aviation maintenance, supply chain, and contractsPurchasing and supply management professional certificationTrax experiencePrevious supply chain experience in the aviation/airline sectorSkills/TalentsStrong analytical and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers and suppliersMust be a self-starterAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to perform effectively in a virtual environment with minimal supervisionAbility to work with a wide variety of personalities and levels of personnel within and outside the companyAbility to handle difficult situations while maintaining a calm demeanorWilling to operate in a 24/7 environmentExemplifies Breeze's safety culture, values, and missionExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate with individuals and teams at all levels in the organizationPhysical Demands & Working ConditionsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerFrequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling documents, and operating standard office equipmentOccasionally lift and/or move up to 15 poundsOccasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching within an office environmentClear verbal and written communication, requiring adequate speech, hearing, and visionPerks of the JobHealth, Vision and DentalHealth Savings Account with Breeze Employee Match401K with Breeze Employee MatchGenerous PTOTravel on Breeze and other Airlines too!Breeze Airways provides equal employment opportunities to all Team Members and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
