Job Description

This role supports a large distribution center by providing hands-on assistance with general labor tasks, material handling, and site preparation. You will help keep the facility clean and organized, move materials safely using pallet jacks, and support project teams with activities such as commissioning equipment, facilitating camera installations, and managing waste materials like plastics and cardboard.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams as an extra pair of hands to complete tasks safely and efficiently in a large distribution center.
• Remove plastics, cardboard, and additional waste from work areas to maintain a clean and organized environment.
• Handle a wide range of general labor tasks, including sweeping, cleaning, and supporting warehouse operations.
• Use pallet jacks to move materials throughout the facility, including transporting loads via elevators when needed.
• Strap, secure, and catalogue materials accurately to support inventory and project needs.
• Use hand tools and air-powered tools to commission towers and related structures according to provided diagrams and instructions.
• Follow step-by-step instructions carefully to complete commissioning and installation tasks correctly and safely.
• Support camera installation activities by moving materials, organizing equipment, and preparing work areas.
• Perform moderate to heavy general labor, including consistent heavy lifting of 40–50 lbs.
• Handle materials safely and efficiently in a busy distribution center environment.
• Assist with construction-related tasks, loading, packaging, and cleaning as assigned.
• Work in various roles as needed, including inventory support and housekeeping duties.
• Maintain good attendance and reliability to support project timelines and team productivity.
• Follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times.

Essential Skills

• Ability to consistently lift 40–50 lbs throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Comfort working 8-hour days on a hard cement floor.
• Experience performing general labor tasks in environments such as warehouses, construction sites, or distribution centers.
• Material handling experience, including moving and organizing materials safely.
• Ability to use pallet jacks to move, strap, and position materials.
• Experience using hand tools and air-powered tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to follow step-by-step instructions, diagrams, and directions accurately.
• Strong attendance and reliability, with a commitment to showing up on time and ready to work.
• Ability to take direction well and work under supervision.
• Willingness to work in multiple positions, including inventory support, housekeeping, loading, packaging, and cleaning.
• Comfort working in a noisy, sometimes crowded, and occasionally messy distribution center environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in robotics-related environments or exposure to automated material handling systems.
• construction, loading, packaging, or similar physical roles.
• Familiarity with warehouse or distribution center operations.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing tasks and priorities.
• Strong attention to safety and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Work Environment

You will work inside a large distribution center that can be loud, sometimes crowded, and occasionally messy in active work areas. The role involves standing and walking on hard cement floors for full shifts and performing consistent physical labor, including heavy lifting. There is a high level of visibility with onsite stakeholders, so you are expected to remain presentable and professional at all times. Required attire includes personal protective equipment such as a high-visibility vest, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, earplugs, and composite toe shoes or boots. Jeans and T-shirts are acceptable, provided clothing is not loose or baggy and is appropriate for a safety-focused industrial setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Greenfield, IN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
