Staff Accountant

Location Plainview, Long Island (On-Site) Compensation $70,000-$90,000 (depending on experience) The Opportunity A well-established construction management and general contracting firm with operations on the East Coast is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Controller with day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands‑on role focused on transactional accounting, job costing, and general ledger support within a construction environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily accounting operations under the direction of the Controller Perform job costing and support project cost tracking Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processing Prepare and post journal entries Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes Support audit preparation and tax filings Analyze financial data and assist with financial reporting Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate cost and revenue reporting Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of accounting experience Construction industry experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations Experience with job costing Proficiency in QuickBooks (required) Experience with Procore is a plus High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment Base salary up to $85,000 (depending on experience) #J-18808-Ljbffr
