About The Role Position Summary The Portfolio Manager supports commercial credit portfolios and deposit relationships by partnering with Commercial Lending Officers throughout the lending and client relationship lifecycle. This role is responsible for financial analysis, loan structuring support, credit authorization preparation, portfolio monitoring, and ongoing credit risk management. The Portfolio Manager helps ensure assigned portfolios remain compliant with bank policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining current financial information and performing ongoing portfolio reviews. Success in this role requires strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills, along with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. The Portfolio Manager works collaboratively with lending officers, clients, and internal partners to identify and meet credit needs, promote First Bank of Wyoming products and services, and support the bank's commitment to excellence. Essential Functions Collect, analyze, and spread financial statements, credit applications, and related documentation to support loan underwriting, renewals, and portfolio management. Evaluate borrower creditworthiness and provide recommendations regarding financial strength, credit risk, and loan structure. Prepare and review credit memorandums, term sheets, proposal letters, commitment letters, and other lending documentation. Review credit reports, title commitments, appraisals, environmental reports, and supporting due diligence to ensure accuracy and completeness. Monitor and manage assigned commercial loan portfolios through effective portfolio and pipeline management. Conduct annual, semi-annual, and ongoing credit reviews to assess portfolio quality and borrower performance. Attend Loan Committee meetings and provide feedback on credit structure and risk considerations as required. Monitor compliance with loan agreements, financial reporting requirements, and covenant obligations. Support quality control, internal audit, external audit, examination, and loan review activities. Assist with regulatory compliance requirements, including documentation and reporting related to CRA, Adverse Action, Regulation B, and other applicable regulations. Assist Commercial Lenders with problem loans, adverse credits, withdrawn requests, business overdrafts, and collection activities to minimize risk and loss. Monitor individual credit relationships and identify emerging risks, recommending appropriate actions when necessary. Maintain organized, accurate, and current digital credit files, including tax returns, financial statements, and related documentation. Partner with Commercial Lenders on customer relationship management, business development activities, client meetings, and call preparation. Collaborate with lenders, credit administration, and senior leadership on special projects, portfolio initiatives, process improvements, and professional development opportunities. Maintain a positive attitude and display courteous, respectful behavior toward customers and coworkers; represent the bank professionally through appearance, punctuality, confidentiality, and adaptability. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control Additional Responsibilities Adhere to First Bank of Wyoming Company Core Values. Responsible for the timely completion of all required Compliance and Security training assigned by GBCI and First Bank of Wyoming within the designated timeframes. It is the individual’s responsibility to fully understand the content presented in each training module. If clarification is needed, the learner must proactively reach out to their supervisor to request further explanation or additional training as necessary. Responsible for adherence to Bank Security Policy and for reporting security risks to management. Keep management appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems. Support the bank’s mission by participating in Community Service and Bank-sponsored activities, while consistently representing the bank in a professional manner. Represent First Bank of Wyoming in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive “can-do” attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Regular and predictable attendance in order to accomplish, among other things, in-person contact with customers. Maintain physical presence in the workplace and full alertness during working hours to ensure effective customer service and overall job performance. Attend and actively participate in required meetings. Provide exceptional internal and external customer service by interacting calmly and professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization. About You Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Two years of commercial credit analysis, commercial banking, or related lending experience required. Experience with commercial loan underwriting, financial analysis, and loan documentation preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. Required Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional customer service. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to define problems, collect and evaluate data, establish facts, and draw sound conclusions. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including active listening, professionalism, tact, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage competing deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and decision-making while maintaining composure under pressure. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in completing complex banking and credit-related tasks. Proficiency in computer applications and technology relevant to the position, as well as standard office equipment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong mathematical, reasoning, memory, and estimation skills necessary for analyzing financial and credit information. Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to quickly learn new processes, regulations, and responsibilities. Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Specific vision abilities required by this job The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes. Working conditions Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level. Travel Must be capable of occasional travel (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Mental Requirements Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters. What We Offer COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. PTO accruals are dependent on position, status (Full time or Part time), and years of experience in accordance with our PTO policy. Most Full‑Time employees are also offered 6 paid holidays and Part Time employees are offered pro‑rated paid holidays.
