Chief Financial Officer (CFO)A West Michigan religious denominational organization is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide executive-level financial leadership and oversight across a complex multi-entity structure. This role is responsible for ensuring strong financial stewardship, compliance, and long-term sustainability across affiliated organizations and ministries. The CFO serves as a key advisor to senior leadership and governing boards, providing clear, accurate financial insight to support both operational decision-making and long-range strategic planning. The role also holds primary responsibility for investment oversight, audit and risk management, financial reporting, and policy development.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, representing the organization in fiduciary and financial matters and participating in executive leadership and governance committeesOversee preparation and delivery of accurate, timely financial reporting for leadership teams and governing boards, ensuring clarity for both financial and non-financial audiencesProvide financial analysis and strategic insight to support operational planning and long-term organizational decision-makingOversee investment portfolios, endowment funds, and financial assets, including performance monitoring, policy development, and management of external financial relationshipsLead, manage, and develop finance and administrative staff, ensuring accountability, professional growth, and operational effectivenessDevelop, implement, and maintain financial policies, internal controls, and compliance systems to meet legal, regulatory, and fiduciary requirementsOversee audit processes and coordinate resolution of findings in collaboration with leadership and governance committeesManage relationships with external vendors, financial institutions, and contracted service providers, including oversight of accounting services for affiliated entitiesExecute contracts and agreements within designated authority and provide additional support to executive leadership as neededAdditional DetailsLocation: Grand Rapids, MICompensation: Competitive, based on experienceSchedule: Full-time, HybridTravel: Approximately 15–20 days of travel annuallyQualificationsMaster's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field10+ years of senior-level financial leadership experienceStrong strategic financial planning and organizational leadership experienceAbility to communicate complex financial information clearly to diverse stakeholdersDemonstrated success managing complex financial systems, teams, and reporting structuresCommitment to the mission and values of a Reformed denominational organizationCPA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting designation preferred
