Job Description:\n\nJob Summary\n\nThe Senior Project Manager is a senior-level project leader responsible for the successful delivery of the company’s largest, most complex, and highest-value electrical construction projects or portfolios. This role operates with full accountability for project performance, including financial outcomes, contract execution, and client satisfaction, while driving strategic execution across multiple stakeholders and project teams.\n\n \n\nOperating within the Project Team under the Operations function, the Senior Project Manager partners closely with Branch Managers, Project Executives, and field leadership to develop and execute project strategies that ensure operational excellence, margin performance, and client retention. This role serves as a primary point of contact for executive-level client relationships and plays a critical role in maintaining and expanding key accounts.\n\n \n\nIn addition to project delivery, the Senior Project Manager provides mentorship and guidance to Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, contributing to the development of project management capabilities across the organization. The role requires a high level of independent judgment, leadership, and business acumen, with the ability to manage complex project demands while influencing broader operational and business outcomes.\n\n \n\nThe Senior Project Manager is a seasoned project management professional with a proven track record of delivering large-scale electrical construction, mission critical, or complex service projects, and the ability to lead high-performing teams while driving consistent results in safety, quality, financial performance, and client experience.\n\n \n\nEssential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities\n\nTasks may include, but are not limited to the following:\n\n· Lead execution of large, complex projects or multiple concurrent projects/programs, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, schedules, and financial objectives\n\n· Own and manage project or portfolio P&L performance, including budget development, forecasting, margin optimization, and financial risk management\n\n· Develop and implement project and program-level execution strategies, including sequencing, logistics, staffing, and resource planning across multiple workstreams\n\n· Serve as the primary executive-level point of contact for clients, general contractors, and key stakeholders; build and maintain long-term client relationships\n\n· Lead contract strategy and administration, including negotiation, risk evaluation, and resolution of complex change orders, claims, and disputes\n\n· Drive financial performance and cost control strategies, including productivity improvement, cost recovery, and margin protection initiatives\n\n· Oversee procurement strategy for major equipment, subcontractors, and vendors, including high-value and long-lead items\n\n· Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project teams; mentor and develop talent to strengthen organizational capability\n\n· Lead coordination across field leadership, engineering, BIM, prefabrication, service, and support functions to ensure integrated project execution\n\n· Identify and proactively manage enterprise-level risks, including operational, financial, contractual, and client-related risks\n\n· Lead executive-level reporting on project and portfolio performance, including status, financials, risks, and strategic considerations\n\n· Support business development efforts by identifying growth opportunities, participating in pursuits, and contributing to client retention and expansion strategies\n\n· Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all projects and reinforce company expectations and best practices\n\n· Oversee final project closeout, commissioning, and turnover processes to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction\n\n \n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities \n\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\n\n· Advanced knowledge of electrical construction, service operations, and project execution methodologies across multiple project types\n\n· Ability to adapt project management approach to different delivery models (lump sum, service work, negotiated work, mission critical environments)\n\n· Strong financial acumen with ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and project profitability\n\n· Advanced understanding of contract administration, risk allocation, and change management\n\n· Ability to independently interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents\n\n· Strong leadership and coordination skills across field teams, service teams, and subcontractors\n\n· Effective client management and communication skills across varied project environments\n\n· Ability to manage multiple projects, workstreams, or service programs simultaneously\n\n· Strategic problem-solving and decision-making capabilities\n\n· Proficiency in project management platforms, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite\n\n· Strong understanding of construction safety standards (OSHA) and operational compliance\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\n\n· Provides direct leadership, guidance, and oversight to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project support staff across assigned projects or programs\n\n· Assigns and prioritizes work, establishes expectations, and holds project team members accountable for performance, deliverables, and results\n\n· Mentors and develops Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, supporting skill development, career progression, and readiness for increased responsibility\n\n· Partners with Branch Managers and Project Executives in evaluating team performance, identifying capability gaps, and supporting staffing and development decisions\n\n· Leads cross-functional coordination with field leadership (Superintendents, General Foremen), engineering, BIM, prefabrication, and service teams to ensure aligned execution\n\n· Influences subcontractor and vendor performance through clear expectations, coordination, and accountability for scope, schedule, and quality outcomes\n\n· Supports onboarding and integration of project team members, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment with project requirements and company standards\n\n· Reinforces company policies, safety expectations, and project management best practices across all assigned teams and projects\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nWork Environment/Physical Demands/Position Type and Expected Work Time\n\nWork Environment:\n\n· Work is performed in a combination of office settings, client locations, and active construction job sites, including commercial, industrial, mission critical/data center, and service environments\n\n· Regular presence across multiple project sites or programs is required to support execution, leadership, and client engagement\n\n· Frequent interaction with executive-level stakeholders, clients, and internal leadership, requiring a high level of professionalism and responsiveness\n\n· Exposure to construction site conditions including noise, dust, confined spaces, heights, energized environments, and varying weather conditions when on-site\n\n· Must comply with all company and site-specific safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, and appropriate footwear\n\n· Travel may be required on a regular basis, including local, regional, and occasional extended travel depending on project assignments and client needs\n\n· Work environment is high-demand, fast-paced, and results-driven, requiring the ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and complex stakeholder expectations simultaneously\n\n· May require availability work hours are driven by project portfolio demands and deliverables\n\n· Schedule requires flexibility to support multiple projects or programs simultaneously, including alignment with varying project timelines and field operations\n\n· Regular presence on job sites, client locations, and internal meetings is required, which may include early mornings, extended workdays, or staggered schedules\n\n· Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to support critical milestones, shutdowns, commissioning activities, or client requirements\n\n· Availability outside of standard business hours is expected to address project issues, client needs, and time-sensitive decisions impacting project performance\n\n· Travel is required on a regular basis and may include local, regional, and occasional extended travel depending on project assignments and client demands\n\nOvertime Expectations:\n\n· This position is classified as exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state laws\n\n· The role is expected to fulfill the responsibilities of the position regardless of hours required, with workload driven by project portfolio demands, client commitments, and business objectives\n\n· Additional hours, including early mornings, extended workdays, evenings, or weekends, may be necessary to support critical project milestones, executive-level client needs, and schedule-sensitive activities\n\n· Availability outside of standard business hours is expected to address project issues, support decision-making, and respond to time-sensitive matters impacting project or business performance\n\n· Work schedules are managed with a high degree of independence and accountability, in coordination with senior leadership, to ensure successful delivery of projects and operational objectives\n\nRequired Education and Experience\n\nEducation:\n\n· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Engineering/Construction Management) preferred\n\n· Equivalent combination of education and extensive, relevant electrical construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree\n\n· Ongoing professional development in leadership, project management, or business/financial disciplines is expected\n\nCertifications/Licenses:\n\n· OSHA 30 Certification required (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)\n\n· Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required for travel to job sites and client locations\n\n· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred; demonstrated progression toward PMP acceptable\n\n· Advanced safety training or certifications (e.g., NFPA 70E, site-specific safety programs) preferred, particularly for mission critical or energized environments\n\n· Industry-relevant certifications or training related to electrical construction, project delivery, or leadership development preferred\n\n \n\n \n \n\nExperience Requirements:\n\n· 8–12+ years of progressive experience in electrical construction, service operations, or related project-based environments\n\n· Proven experience independently leading large-scale, high-value projects or multiple concurrent projects/programs from initiation through closeout\n\n· Demonstrated accountability for project or portfolio financial performance, including budget development, forecasting, cost control, and margin optimization\n\n· Experience managing projects of significant complexity, including multi-phase work, accelerated schedules, or highly coordinated environments (e.g., mission critical, industrial, or large commercial projects)\n\n· Proven ability to lead contract strategy and administration, including negotiation, change order management, and resolution of complex project issues, claims, or disputes\n\n· Demonstrated success managing executive-level client relationships, including communication, issue resolution, and long-term account development\n\n· Experience leading and coordinating cross-functional teams, including field operations, subcontractors, vendors, engineering, BIM, prefabrication, and service teams\n\n· Experience developing and executing procurement and resource strategies for major equipment, subcontractors, and long-lead items\n\n· Demonstrated ability to drive project performance, including improving labor productivity, managing risk, and implementing corrective actions to protect schedule and margin\n\n· Experience identifying and mitigating project and business risks, including financial, operational, and contractual exposures\n\n· Proven track record of mentoring and developing Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, supporting team capability and succession planning\n\n· Experience supporting business development efforts, including client retention, repeat work, and participation in project pursuits preferred\n\n \n\nEquipment or Machines Routinely Used in This Position\n\n· Computer or laptop with enterprise-level project management platforms (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction
