Job Overview The principal leads Al-Hidaya School with the understanding that their role is an amanah (trust) – a sacred responsibility before Allah ﷻ. Oversee the hiring process, bringing on staff who share the school’s commitment to Islamic character and academic excellence. Provide annual performance evaluations for all staff grounded in both professional standards and Islamic ethical conduct. Develop and manage the school budget responsibly, treating financial stewardship as part of the amanah of leadership. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with fire, health, safety, and licensing requirements. Maintain thorough documentation and record keeping in accordance with applicable laws and best practices. Maintain open, honest, and compassionate communication with parents. Qualifications Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in educational leadership or school management – or a candidate actively working toward this with our support. Practicing Muslim of strong Islamic character with demonstrable knowledge of the Quran, Sunnah, and Islamic ethics as they apply to education and leadership – or a candidate committed to deepening this knowledge through a structured pathway we will provide. Deep personal commitment to embodying the prophetic model of leadership: consultative, humble, just, and compassionate. Demonstrated ability to execute – a track record of taking initiative, following through on plans, and delivering results. A dynamic, energetic personality with strong decision-making skills and a forward-thinking mindset. Previous teaching experience at the primary level with a strong understanding of elementary curriculum and pedagogy. Minimum 3 years of school management or leadership experience in a comparable setting – or demonstrated leadership in a community, organizational, or professional context with the capacity to grow into school management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and highly effective stakeholder relationship management. Experience building and sustaining high-performance teams rooted in shared values. Knowledge of child protection, health and safety, and relevant educational regulations. Budgeting and financial management experience preferred.
