This role combines strong technical expertise, people leadership, delivery ownership, and client engagement. The ideal candidate can operate strategically while staying technically grounded.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and manage a team of ~50 data engineers, ETL developers, architects, analysts, and support staff.Drive workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and performance management.Establish clear goals, KPIs, and development plans.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Manage onshore/offshore coordination if applicable.Technical OversightProvide architectural and technical direction for Data Warehouse and Big Data platforms.Ensure best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT design, data governance, and performance optimization.Oversee platforms such as (example technologies):Data Warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)Big Data (Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, Kafka, etc.)Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Orchestration & ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, Airflow, DataStage, etc.)Ensure data quality, security, compliance, and scalability standards are met.Guide modernization initiatives (cloud migration, real-time pipelines, lakehouse architecture).Delivery & OperationsOwn end-to-end delivery of data engineering projects and production support.Ensure SLA adherence, incident management, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation.Drive agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.Manage budget, resource allocation, and capacity planning.Report metrics, progress, and risks to senior leadership.Client & Stakeholder EngagementAct as primary point of contact for business and client stakeholders.Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.Conduct executive-level presentations and solution walkthroughs.Manage expectations, escalations, and strategic roadmap discussions.Build strong, long-term client relationships.Required Qualifications12–18+ years of experience in Data Warehouse / Big Data ecosystems.5+ years in a leadership role managing large technical teams (30+ members preferred).Strong understanding of:Data architecture & dimensional modelingETL/ELT frameworksDistributed data processingCloud data platformsData governance and securityExperience managing large-scale enterprise data environments.Proven track record of delivering complex data programs.Strong financial and operational management skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Preferred QualificationsExperience in large enterprise or global delivery environments.Exposure to data modernization and cloud transformation programs.Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) or data engineering.Experience in regulated industries (Finance, Healthcare, Telecom, etc.).Key CompetenciesStrategic thinking with hands-on technical depthStrong people leadership and mentoring skillsExecutive presence and client-facing confidenceProblem-solving and decision-making abilityOperational excellence mindsetAbout NTT DATANTT DATA is a $30 billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune Global 100.
