Business Development Manager, Weddings and Events

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager specializing in Weddings and Special Occasions. The ideal candidate will specialize in generating and managing weddings and social group business within the Weddings and Special Occasions (WSO). Reporting to the Director of Weddings and Special Occasions, this role identifies, solicits, and secures new social and weddings opportunities while nurturing and cultivating existing relationships across travel agencies, wholesale partners, marketing and direct client business. Additionally, this position will assist with the distribution of leads to the appropriate Weddings and Special Occasions Sales Manager and assist with the initial stages of the sales process as needed.

Duties

• Identify, solicit, and cultivate new retail agency and wholesale accounts; maximize opportunities within existing partners.
\n
• Develop and implement sales strategies and action plans to meet department and revenue objectives via lead generation.
\n
• Conduct training calls and webinars to agencies to inform them of the Weddings and Special Occasions offerings.
\n
• Represent Atlantis with the WSO team at trade shows, bridal events partner events and select Leisure Sales FAM trips. Conduct sales calls webinar and WSO presentations to new and targeted accounts.
\n
• Assist with coordination and hosting of WSO familiarization trips (FAMs) in conjunction with the Director of Weddings and Special Occasions.
\n
• Provide the WSO Sales Team with new qualified leads
\n
• Provide ongoing support to WSO team, including deployment of leads and managing the shared inboxes and voicemail leads.
\n
• Assist WSO Sales Team with initial lead responses, rate proposals and venue availability
\n
• Analyze agency and wholesale account performance as well as foster the relationships with them. Identify revenue opportunities and trends; present insights to leadership.
\n
• Provide support to the Director of Weddings and Special Occasions and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strategic business results.
\n
• Assist Director of WSO and Internal Departments to enhance the service received by our VIP clients and Bridal Couples.

Skills

\n

\n
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel or resort sales, weddings sales and planning, or a similar role strongly preferred. Experience in promoting an marketing destinations.
\n
• Robust understanding of weddings and social group segments including agencies, consortia and wholesale markets and direct client business.
\n
• Proven success managing VIP clientele and networking to promote new business conversion.
\n
• Willingness to travel up to 50%, both domestically and internationally.
\n
• Excellent and prompt verbal, written, and presentation skills; effective communication across multiple mediums.
\n
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage internal/external relationships under pressure and prompt response.
\n
• Proficiency in CRM tools and industry systems (e.g. LMS, Delphi)
\n
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (e.g., Business, Marketing, Hospitality), though comparable experience may be accepted.
