HVAC Service Technician II

Join the world's largest HVAC company as a full‑time Service Technician II. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment in Austin, TX (onsite). What You’ll Do Perform maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment, including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, belts, and lubrication. Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, chillers, water‑source heat pumps, air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes. Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems and prevent premature breakdowns. Analyze chiller trend data to ensure optimal performance. Perform warranty service applications by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality. Lead the rebuild and retrofit of commercial HVAC equipment, demonstrating steps to Technician Levels I and II and guiding centrifugal rebuilds. Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, and technician tip reports in a timely manner. Interact with customers, provide status reports before, during, and after each call, and explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Participate in training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continually develop new skill sets. Uphold standards, policies, procedures, and a clean work area, and follow OSHA and Daikin safety policies. Travel may be required, including some overnight trips. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility, or 7+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High School Diploma or GED. Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent education and experience. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Rotational emergency call support as required. EPA approved universal technician certification or licensing required by local law. Work visa sponsorship is not available. Preferred Qualifications Commercial HVAC industry experience. Experience mentoring less experienced technicians. OSHA 10 certification within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding). Current first aid / CPR card.
