Sr. Accountant

Senior AccountantWe are looking for a hard-working, highly motivated Senior Accountant to join Peloton's Connected Fitness accounting team. This candidate will be responsible for taking ownership of the end-to-end workstream processes related to revenue. This candidate will challenge the status quo in order to develop and implement best practices within our accounting and financial reporting processes, including the daily supervision of one or more team members. The ideal candidate will have excellent business acumen, strong communication skills, and will be a natural numbers wizard with an affinity for data and software tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of the latest U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers, business process design, internal controls, and experience working with external auditors. They are an analytical thinker who enjoys working cross-functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Ownership of revenue accounting close process for assigned areas, including daily interaction with business partners and external auditorsPrepare and review monthly journal entries and related balance sheet account reconciliationsAssist in the calculation, presentation, and communication of revenue analytics and company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to finance leadershipDevelop robust documentation around SOX-compliant internal controls, and ensure all controls are performed and documented in a manner that will meet the requirements of both internal and external auditors.Ensure data integrity and compliance for assigned accounts across all relevant systemsInvestigate reporting discrepancies and effectively communicate issuesContinually improve business processes through automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching or benchmarking best practices inside and outside of the companySupport business processes by partnering with other departments, including but not limited to the FP&A, Member Experience, Data Science, and Supply Chain teamsAssist in other assigned department-related tasks including special projects3+ years of relevant Accounting experience - Public Accounting experience preferredEducation and/or comparable professional experience in Accounting or related fieldActive CPA license in good standingIn-depth knowledge of accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAPExperience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation; SEC experience a plusExcellent communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levelsProactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet pressing deadlinesTech-savvy and MS Excel superuser; must be comfortable working with and analyzing large datasetsASC 606 knowledge and experience a plusExperience working with various systems including, but not limited to NetSuite, Oracle EPM, Oracle ARCS is a plusThe base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including, without limitation, experience and business objectives and if the location for the job changes.
