Provides companionship to those individuals requiring socialization and/or minimum guidance to assure a safe, protected, clean, and orderly environment.Do you enjoy caring for others? Flexible hours!This position is responsible for in-home support services which includes companionship, personal care and homemaking activities. Provides for the comfort, safety and care of clients that enables the client to achieve optimal function with Activities of Daily Living (ADL).The ideal candidate is genuinely concerned about helping people, has high standards of honesty and integrity and possesses the maturity level needed to be able to satisfactorily handle unusual situations that can arise when attending to our clients and their families.Responsibilities:Performs duties as outlined in the client's Plan of CareHelps maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients and family members by providing light housekeeping tasks including dusting, cleaning floors and rugs, cleaning the kitchen, cleaning ovens, cleaning bathrooms, removing trash from the home, washing insides of windows and sills within reach from the floor, laundering client's garments and linens, and changing linens and remaking bedsProvides companionship for the client including, but not limited to, talking and listening, reading aloud, writing and mailing letters, helping with phone calls, reminding about appointments, accompanying to appointments, and providing social and emotional supportPromotes the client's mental alertness through involvement in activities of interestProvides emotional support and promotes a sense of well-beingHelps clients in activities of daily living by providing any of the Comfort Keepers approved personal care activities including, but not limited to: bathing (bed, tub, shower), toileting, incontinent care, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, hair care, shaving, peri care, skin care, and hand and foot careHelps clients run errands and purchase items, including groceries, household items, prescriptions, and personal care needsMay prepare and serve meals as directed and ensures that dishes are washed and kitchen is clean after each mealReminds client to take self-administered medicationsHelps the client with ambulation/transfers as specified in the Plan of CareHelps the client with turning, positioning, and active and passive range of motion exercises as specified in the Plan of CareHelps client in the use and cleaning of bedpans, bedside commodes, and with toileting activity as neededIdentifies and reports safety hazards to supervisor and eliminates safety hazards with client and supervisor's approvalObserves and reports any changes in the client's mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to immediate supervisorEstablishes and maintains effective communication and a professional relationship with clients, family members, and co-workersParticipates in in-service and continuing education programs, staff meetings, and client conferences as requested by immediate supervisorEnsures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standardsMaintains confidentiality regarding client informationPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredValid driver's license and reliable transportationAble to follow verbal and written instructions and document services providedAble to maintain satisfactory relationships with clients, family, and team membersAble to function independently in the home setting with minimal direct supervisionAble to fulfill assignments with reliability and punctualityAble to stand, sit, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 25 poundsSuccessful completion of Comfort Keepers training and orientation programSuccessfully complete extensive background check which includes Criminal History and Driving RecordAgree to submit to random drug and alcohol testingBenefits for eligible employees:Daily payBalanced Work-Life Company CultureHealth insuranceDental and eye insurancePaid mileageVacation time401KFamily Friendly LeaveAnnual appreciation partiesFlexible Schedule/hours
