Founding Software Engineer

Manufacturing is one of the largest sectors in the world economy, and still one of the least transformed by software and AI. What makes it hard is that the real workflows are barely captured. They live in how machines behave, how operators respond, and how experienced teams handle the exceptions that decide uptime, quality, and throughput. We’re building AI that learns from the factory environment and turns that knowledge into better decisions on the floor. The point is simple: better decisions and better execution while the work is happening. Our Palo Alto-based team brings experience from Stanford, BCG, and Mercedes-Benz. Our founders have built a unicorn and raised hundreds of millions from firms like Sequoia and Tiger Global. The Role We’re hiring an Applied AI Engineer to turn messy, real-world data into production intelligence. You’ll own backend-heavy AI systems end to end: multi-modal ingestion pipelines, retrieval and reasoning systems, evaluation loops, and APIs that directly drive real-world decisions. Frontend experience is optional, but a strong plus. What You’ll Do Design and ship system-level components that are fast, reliable, and observable Build and own APIs that are clean, composable, and production-grade Design evaluation and feedback loops that continuously improve model behavior Work directly with customers and product to ship what actually moves metrics Own reliability end to end: logging, crash capture, watchdogs, diagnostics What We’re Looking For Strong backend fundamentals and a bias for ownership. You build and you run what you ship Highly driven, proactive, and uncomfortable with slow progress Good taste in system design, especially around APIs and data flows Experience shipping applied AI or ML systems to real users is a plus Fluency in TypeScript, data systems, and cloud infrastructure Comfortable operating in ambiguity, with urgency, in messy real-world environments Bonus Frontend experience (modern JS frameworks) #J-18808-Ljbffr Myto
