Associate Program Director Role for Internal Medicine Residency Program

Our organization is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking leader to fill the role of Associate Program Director within our newly established Internal Medicine Residency Program. We seek a board-certified physician acknowledged by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association.

The Associate Program Director plays a vital role as a leader and faculty member, supporting the Program Director in both the administrative and clinical management of the educational initiative. Clinical responsibilities may encompass outpatient internal medicine, inpatient hospital duties, or a blend of both, based on individual interests. Additional leadership roles may include directing the Outpatient Internal Medicine Clinic or overseeing the Academic Inpatient Medicine Service. Furthermore, the Associate Program Director will assist the Program Director with various tasks to enhance the educational program's effectiveness.

• Specialty expertise with a minimum of three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience.
• Current Internal Medicine Board Certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
• Experience collaborating within an interdisciplinary team to foster an educational atmosphere that prioritizes high-quality care, patient safety, and resident well-being.
• Eligibility for full medical licensure in South Carolina.
• Eligibility for unrestricted Active Medical Staff privileges.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership capabilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of the requirements for maintaining ACGME accreditation in Internal Medicine.
• Demonstration of values and behaviors that align with our organization's standards.
