POSITION TITLE: MTSS Coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year

JOB DEFINITION/PURPOSE:

The MTSS Coordinator who will lead and enhance Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) initiatives in their assigned buildings while also contributing to district-level planning and implementation efforts.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• MTSS Leadership & Systems
• Oversee the development and implementation of MTSS-related systems, PBIS, Social-Emotional Learning, Mental Health, and Early Warning Systems within the assigned building
• Monitor implementation fidelity of MTSS practices at the school level, including both academic and behavioral support systems
• Ensure adherence to district procedures, state guidelines, and federal regulations related to MTSS

• Gather and analyze various student-related data (achievement, attendance, behavior, course performance/grades) to inform instructional changes and guide planning of small-group and individual interventions
• Encourage and model the use of data to inform decision-making processes within the school
• Support Interventionists in assessment administration, scoring, and data interpretation for MTSS decision-making

• Plan and lead building-level problem-solving meetings to address student needs and enhance support strategies
• Facilitate grade-level and departmental conversations to analyze data, identify intervention needs, and develop improvement goals

• Provide instruction to small groups of students as an interventionist based on school and grade level data
• Coordinate MTSS staff development activities for school-based and district personnel
• Model evidence-based instructional practices and support staff implementation

• Maintain effective and timely communication with parents, staff, and school personnel
• Develop positive relationships with families and staff
• Attend district MTSS meetings and collaborative sessions with elementary/secondary counterparts to ensure vertical alignment of screening schedules, intervention protocols, Tier movement criteria, and data sharing
• Serve on district committees as requested to contribute to broader educational initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification required
• Demonstrated experience with MTSS implementation and data systems
• Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the PA School Code)
• Submission of the following clearances:
  • PA State Criminal History Record (Act 34 & Act 114)
  • PA Dept. of Public Welfare Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151 & Act 114)
  • Federal (FBI) Background Check (Act 24)
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to reach above and below the waist
• Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects
• Some stooping, kneeling, bending and twisting of the body as required
• Ability to bend, twist, kneel, stoop, climb, and crawl
• Ability to lift and/or carry supplies and/or papers weighing no more than 20 lbs.
• Ability to mostly stand, walk, or move throughout the work day.
