Location: West Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with 48-hour work weeks available; 6 weekend shifts per schedule period required; no on-call; floating between units required

Highlights:

• Level II Trauma Center with 379 staffed beds providing short-term acute care
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio (1:3-4 days, 1:4 nights) in a 32-bed Intermediate Care Unit
• Advanced patient population including cardiac drips, post-catheterization lab procedural care, and trach/vent management
• Epic charting system with 12 hours of orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• Free employee parking available on-site

Requirements:

• Current RN license (Compact license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of progressive care/step-down nursing experience required
• Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required; previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with 1:4 patient ratios and Epic EMR preferred
• Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, vasoactive drip management, arterial line management, ventilator care, chest tubes, blood product administration, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Patient Population:

• Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients with diagnoses including NSTEMI, AFib/RVR, sepsis, pneumonia/COPD, CHF, CVA/TIA, GI bleed, acute renal failure, and closed fractures/trauma
• Post-procedural care for TAVR, Watchman procedures, angiograms, heart catheterizations with or without interventions, and post-CABG patients
• Complex care including TR bands, sheaths, continuous ventilation with tracheostomy, and various cardiac interventions
