About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid and Compact state license must be obtained prior to submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous Charge Experience preferred - Trauma Level II Experience required - Patient Ratio Experience of 4 Description: Position requires floating between units. No on-call requirement. Weekends are required—6 shifts per scheduling period. Block schedules are not required. Expected patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:4. Special requirements include cardiac drips, post-cath lab procedural care, and trach/vent management. Every day, the patient age group includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census in the unit is approximately 30 patients. Unit comprises 32 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Common patient diagnoses include Afib, NSTEMI, ARF, sepsis, pneumonia, hypertension, and heart failure. Special procedures performed in the unit include TAVR and heart catheterizations. The unit utilizes specialized equipment and is equipped to care for patients post-procedures. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Must commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays. All requests for time off must be made upfront during application. Inflexibility beyond contracted schedule may lead to contract termination. References are required to cover prior year during the compliance process before the start.
