Transportation Planning Project Manager I

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly is seeking an experienced Transportation Planning Project Manager to help lead transportation planning studies that shape safer, more connected, and more resilient communities. We are a fast-growing firm with 500+ employees across 25 offices and in 10 states, serving clients through our four primary business groups:AviationSurface TransportationWater ResourcesBuilding & Site ServicesAs an Experienced Transportation PlanningProject Manager, you'll play a key role in collaborating with planners, engineers, environmental scientists, technicians, public and private agencies, and community stakeholders to develop transportation solutions that enhance mobility, safety, and quality of life. You will manage planning studies, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, support client relationships, and guide projects from concept through implementation while contributing to meaningful infrastructure and community planning initiatives. Here’s what you’ll do:Manage transportation planning projects and studies.Serve as lead planner on assigned projects.Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.Prepare transportation planning studies and technical deliverables.Develop reports, maps, exhibits, and presentations. Utilize GIS and planning analysis tools proficiently.Lead or support client meetings, workshops, and public engagement activities. Support the development of strong client relationships.Manage or monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Lead or support business development activities, proposals, and project pursuits.Mentor junior planners and support staff development. Perform other duties as assignedHere is what you’ll need:Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Community Development, Geography, or related Field required8 years' minimum experience in transportation planning, urban planning, community development, or related disciplineAmerican Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certificationProficient in managing transportation planning projects and studiesProficient in transportation planning principles, practices, and methodologiesProficient at coordinating project teams, schedules, budgets, and deliverablesProficient at preparing technical reports, planning documents, maps, and presentationsProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteProficient with ESRI, ArcGIS, Sketch UP, Adobe Suite, and other appropriate planning softwareStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to build and maintain positive client relationships,Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skillsValid driver's license and the ability to travel to support project, client, or stakeholder needs. Ideally, you will also have:Experience working with municipalities, counties, MPOs, DOTs, or other public agenciesDemonstrated experience facilitating public meeting, workshops, or stakeholder engagement activates.Demonstrated experience leading and supporting business development, proposals, and project pursuitsExperience with transportation modeling, corridor studies, safety studies, or multimodal planning initiativesA desire to further develop and implement business development skillsPhysical Requirements:Physical demands very depending on the specific nature of assigned projects.
