Operations Supervisor

An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Operations Supervisor, based within Bolton, Vantage. You will support our front-line drivers to help them deliver the very best,in terms of safety, reliability and customer service. Working a shift pattern to cover 7-day operation,you should be flexible in your approach to work. You will ensure a safe, punctual, reliable and cost-effective delivery of services by managing the flow of drivers and vehicles out of depot, along route and back into depot, within the operational excellence framework. Identifying and resolving day to day operational issues, including schedules, allocations, vehicle performance and driver queries. Providing updates and escalating key issues or concerns to the line manager. You will engage front line colleagues though effective communication, active listening and recognition, workingwithin and embedding the divisional governance framework set by the Operations Steering Group, ensuring that operational excellence policies and procedures are adopted within the depot Skills Strong Customer Service skills Excellent people management and coaching skills (emotional intelligence) Can explain business decisions clearly and concisely, and deal professionally with employee’s questions and reactions Able to demonstrate empathy where appropriate Able to have difficult conversations, and challenge constructively when appropriate Able to listen effectively, and filter what needs to be actioned Has the ability to influence others and to sell ideas Can interrogate data bases such as Excel Can use email and websites Excellent time management and ability to prioritise Able to delegate effectively whilst maintaining accountability; and encouraging others to do the same Good written communication skills Good numerical skills Able to respond constructively to frequent change Experience Experience of working in a Health and Safety focused environment Experience of customer service and meeting customer needs and expectations Knowledge of working to legislative requirements and company policies; understands standards and regulations which are sector specific Desirable: Training and development skills: the ability to train and develop others and knowledge of how to adapt training approaches to suit others Essential: Problem solving skills Demonstrated professionalism Supports company values related to operational performance and safety Ability to think on their feet Demonstrated team building and communication skills Receptive to feedback, both negative and positive Helps to find solutions Creates accountability Ability to deliver operational objectives in spite of challenges and roadblocks to the contrary #J-18808-Ljbffr Thomas Cook
