This role leverages data-including weather patterns, seasonality, and guest demand-to develop forecasts, staffing strategies, and scheduling models across key departments (e.g., Lift Operations, Ski & Ride School, Rentals, Food & Beverage, and Guest Services).This position combines analytical rigor with strong cross-functional collaboration to drive workforce strategy and demand planning.WAGE:The base salary range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resort’s salary range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resort’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.Salary pay range: $65K - $74KKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Workforce Strategy & Forecasting:Develop and maintain short- and long-term workforce forecasts based on demand drivers such as visitation trends, weather patterns, events, and seasonalityBuild scenario-based staffing models (best/base/worst case) to support decision-making in a highly variable environmentPartner with department leaders to align staffing plans with operational needs and financial targetsSupport annual budgeting, headcount planning, and seasonal hiring strategiesLabor Optimization & Scheduling:Design and refine labor models, staffing standards, and scheduling models across departments (Lift Ops, Ski School, Rentals, F&B, Guest Services)Ensure schedules align with forecasted demand, service expectations, and labor targetsEnsure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and scheduling standards.Monitor staffing levels, open shifts, and coverage gapsPartner with frontline leaders to improve schedule efficiency, productivity, and employee experienceAnalytics & Insights:Track and analyze key workforce metrics (labor cost, productivity, overtime, service levels).Deliver clear, actionable insights and recommendations to operational and executive leadership.Identify trends and recommend strategies to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.Systems & Continuous Improvement:Serve as a subject matter expert for workforce management systems (e.g., Workday Scheduling, UKG, Kronos)Ensure data integrity and continuously improve reporting and forecasting toolsTrain leaders on best practices in forecasting, scheduling, and labor optimizationSupport system enhancements, implementations, and process improvementsQUALIFICATIONS:Required Skills:Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data modeling); experience with Power BI a plusExperience with workforce management systems (Workday, UKG, Kronos, etc.)Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into business insightsUnderstanding of labor cost drivers, service levels, and operational performance metricsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsSuccess Profile:Builds strong partnerships with front-line leaders and senior stakeholdersCommunicates complex financial and operational insights effectivelyDemonstrates curiosity, critical thinking, and proactive problem-solvingQuickly develops business acumen and earns trust across teamsFirst 90 Days & Beyond:Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders and understand operational driversDevelop foundational knowledge of labor models, systems, and processesBegin contributing insights and supporting workforce optimization initiativesWithin 6 Months:Independently manage forecasting, labor analysis, and scheduling processesDeliver strategic insights that influence staffing and operational decisionsEXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Hospitality, or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience in workforce planning, labor analytics, scheduling, or operations analysisExperience in hospitality, resorts, theme parks, or other seasonal/demand-driven environments preferredWorking knowledge of labor laws and scheduling best practicesWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Full-time, year-round role with peak-season weekend/holiday supportCombination of office and on-mountain workExposure to varying weather conditions in a mountain environmentAbility to ski or snowboard across terrain at Alterra resortsRegular use of computer and office equipment; moderate noise environmentOn-site at Winter Park ResortAN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER:Winter Park Resort is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is dedicated to the principles of equal employment opportunity in any term, condition, or privilege of employment.Application Deadline: Recruiting timelines vary by position, however, all Winter Park Resort positions accept applications for a minimum of 3 business days from the posting date listed above.
