This role supports the delivery of large-scale data center and mission-critical connectivity infrastructure projects across the country.
You will work at the intersection of engineering, construction coordination, project controls, field execution, and customer delivery.
The position offers broad exposure to fiber optics, structured cabling, low-voltage systems, pathways, and complex data center environments.
You will partner closely with project managers, field leaders, engineers, technicians, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and clients.
Your work will help keep projects safe, accurate, organized, on schedule, and aligned with technical and quality requirements.
This is an ideal opportunity for a technically curious, highly organized professional who enjoys solving problems and moving projects forward.
The role combines office-based project coordination with field engagement and requires the flexibility to travel nationwide as project needs evolve.
Accountabilities:
- Support day-to-day project planning, coordination, execution, documentation, reporting, and project controls in partnership with project leadership.
- Assist with project startup by reviewing scopes, drawings, specifications, schedules, safety requirements, client expectations, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate with field teams, project leadership, clients, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to support safe and efficient project delivery.
- Participate in project meetings, site walks, schedule reviews, production meetings, coordination calls, and client updates.
- Track milestones, labor plans, materials, constraints, deliverables, open issues, and completion dates using organized project trackers and logs.
- Review drawings, specifications, cable schedules, rack elevations, network room layouts, OSP/ISP plans, and other construction documents to identify discrepancies, scope gaps, constructability concerns, and field conflicts.
- Prepare and coordinate RFIs and support communication between clients, engineers, designers, general contractors, and project teams.
- Provide technical coordination for fiber optic and copper cabling, structured cabling, cable tray, ladder rack, racks, cabinets, patch panels, splice enclosures, vaults, duct banks, innerduct, pathways, grounding, testing, labeling, and closeout activities.
- Support quantity tracking, material takeoffs, field production validation, procurement tracking, delivery coordination, inventory verification, and shortage identification.
- Maintain accurate project records, including RFIs, submittals, transmittals, meeting minutes, daily reports, production reports, drawing revisions, change documentation, field tickets, and closeout packages.
- Support change management by tracking field work orders, time-and-material documentation, cost backup, estimates, change orders, and related records.
- Work with field supervision and quality teams to verify installation progress, conduct field walks and inspections, develop punch lists, and resolve quality issues.
- Promote a strong safety culture by supporting site-specific safety requirements, orientations, pre-task planning, hazard assessments, and safe work practices.
- Assist with preconstruction and estimating activities, including scope and document reviews, quantity takeoffs, RFQs, vendor and subcontractor quote tracking, constructability feedback, and proposal documentation.
- Support site surveys by documenting existing conditions, pathway availability, installation constraints, and potential project risks.
- Maintain closeout readiness throughout the project and coordinate as-builts, redlines, test results, O&M documentation, warranties, product data, inspection records, punch lists, and final turnover packages.
- Identify risks and issues early, communicate them effectively, and contribute to practical solutions that protect safety, quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, telecommunications, information technology, project management, or a related field is preferred.
- Bring 2+ years of experience in construction coordination, telecommunications, data center construction, structured cabling, fiber optics, low voltage, OSP/ISP infrastructure, project engineering, or project administration.
- Experience supporting hyperscale data center, mission-critical, telecommunications, fiber, structured cabling, or low-voltage construction projects is strongly valued.
- Demonstrate familiarity with fiber and copper cabling, structured cabling, cable tray, ladder rack, racks, cabinets, pathways, vaults, duct banks, innerduct, splice enclosures, testing, labeling, and project closeout documentation.
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Smartsheet, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BuildingConnected, or similar project management and construction technology platforms is preferred.
- Understand project documentation and controls, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily reports, field tickets, material logs, punch lists, and closeout packages.
- Knowledge of BICSI, NEC, TIA, OSHA, and general data center construction practices is preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred, while BICSI, RCDD, DCDC, fiber optic, low-voltage, or related certifications are a plus.
- Demonstrate excellent organization, attention to detail, time management, prioritization, and follow-through.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with customers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Be proactive, self-motivated, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrate technical curiosity, strong problem-solving abilities, and the judgment to escalate risks and issues early.
- Be able to work effectively across both office and field environments and build strong relationships that influence positive project outcomes.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, schedule performance, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
- Be highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel nationwide is required, and the role may require use of standard personal protective equipment when working on project sites.
Benefits
- Full-time, exempt position with opportunities to contribute to large-scale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Exposure to complex technology infrastructure, including fiber optics, structured cabling, low-voltage systems, OSP/ISP pathways, and data center environments.
