Criminal Intelligence Analyst 2 (Senior)

The Iowa Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking to fill a Criminal Intelligence Analyst Senior (Criminal Intelligence Analyst 2) position within the Iowa Division of Intelligence and Fusion Center. Responsibilities Perform operational intelligence analysis by providing direct, critical, front-line intelligence support to ongoing or continuing investigations. Critically evaluate information from multiple sources and determine the importance and limitations of each piece of information. Analyze cellphone data, financial records, computerized databases, open sources, and social media records to provide intelligence support to criminal investigations and to identify criminal activity. Conduct cellular telephone analysis and mapping; critically evaluate information, draw inferences, and apply logic to perform analysis. Accurately prepare written reports and communicate findings. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university plus two years of full-time work experience compiling, interpreting, and evaluating criminal investigation or intelligence information; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of the type of experience described above for one year of the required education with a maximum substitution of four years. Additional Requirements This position is scheduled to work Monday‑Friday (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) with occasional work on weekends and evenings. Some travel within the State of Iowa is required.
