Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Assists in analyzing program, budgetary, and fiscal data. Monitors expenditures and forecasts changes that require reprogramming of funds for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Monitors and reviews consults in CPRS to ensure accuracy in purchasing or reordering of implants used during procedures. Works with clinicians and subordinates in addressing special implant, Inventory or Consignment consults.
• Monitors that consignment stock is checked monthly with the vendor and requests the usage report. Identifies and addresses any issues or discrepancies in implant components promptly and effectively.
• Provides technical and administrative supervision of the assigned staff. Sets priorities and establishes schedules; evaluates performance, recommends promotions and awards; approves requests for leave; identifies training needs; keeps employees informed; provides counsel; and recommends disciplinary action as required.
• Develops work priorities and objectives for subordinate staff in order to improve workflow and maximize productivity.
• Undertakes special healthcare projects as directed by the service Chief and ACOS for Surgical Care and Chief of Staff.
• Coordinates contracts, purchases, services, equipment, and implants. Maintains and monitors Implant contracts and serves as the primary Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
• Develops and recommends policies and procedures for the tracking of all implants related processes for the organization.
• Performs assessment, planning, provision and evaluation of implants, equipment, instrumentation, and supplies requested for implantation and used by end users in these procedure areas.
• Oversees monitoring and ensuring unit-based orientation, training, development, and competency of staff related to implant utilization, documentation, and use of implant tracking software.
• Assist service Chief with the formulation and execution of Surgical Care fiscal budget. Assist with the budget execution functions to ensure that expenditures are consistent with budget formulation plans as the fiscal year progresses.
• Submits budget information for contract cost escalations, procurement of implants and the supplies and materials related to it.
