Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport. Develop and deliver relevant and rigorous lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement. Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds to meet student needs. Observe and evaluate student performance and mastery of standards, monitor assessment data, and maintain student grades and attendance. Manage student behavior in the classroom using effective classroom management strategies and appropriate disciplinary procedures. Communicate with parents and school/district personnel regarding student progress and encourage parental involvement. Take all responsible precautions to provide for the health and safety of students and protect equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain and secure confidential records, inquiries, and data. Maintain appropriate certifications and professional development hours as required. Perform any other duties as assigned. Eligibility and Requirements Certificates/Licenses: Florida Professional Educator Certificate preferred. Eligibility for Florida Temporary Certificate required. Language Skills: Reads, analyzes, and interprets all kinds of documents, responds to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or community, writes speeches, and presents effectively. Mathematical Skills: Applies concepts such as probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Solves practical problems and deals with variety of variables in situations with limited standardization, interprets instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: Knowledge of relevant and current computer software programs. Physical Demands Physical Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing. Lifting Demands: Up to 10 pounds. Reaching Activities: Both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead. Environmental Conditions: Noise intensity: moderate.
