Sr Injection Mold Designer

Job Description

*Responsibilities: Influence overall design and development of injection molds in accordance with divisional strategies. Provide design oversight to product development programs and provide technical direction and assistance on new product quotes. Apply industry best practices relative to injection mold design in order to promote profitability through robust designs ensuring efficient operation and maintenance. Assess new applications, recommend, select and evaluate tooling development present and future purchases.

Qualifications

*Requirements: University graduate (Bachelor level) or recognized equivalency or achievement of recognized professional level.

7-10 years of injection mold design and development. Expert knowledge of mold making and tool design, specifically injection mold tools.

Expert knowledge of manufacturing technologies used in injection molding applications, 2 Shot and Insert molding knowledge strongly desired. Expert knowledge of production and tooling processes. Expert knowledge of 3D CAD. Experience with Pro-E an asset.

Thorough understanding of automotive industry standards and quality system requirements in a manufacturing environment.
