About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Programs Officer (CPO) to join its Executive Leadership Team. The CPO will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of all programmatic work, ensuring that programs are in line with the organization's mission and strategic priorities. This includes areas such as water, wildlife, forest and range, conservation finance, and public policy. The successful candidate will be tasked with fostering alignment and collaboration across these diverse program areas, as well as establishing and achieving annual programmatic priorities and performance metrics. The role also involves serving as a key representative of the organization, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and supporting fundraising efforts. Applicants for the CPO position at the company should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree preferred, and at least 10 years of leadership experience in conservation, natural resource management, public policy, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the issues affecting private landowners and a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and complex programs. Strong communication skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, and experience in securing and managing grant-funded programs are essential. The role requires a creative and positive approach to problem-solving, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
