We're seeking a Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at our Annapolis location. This pivotal role involves various responsibilities, which includes performing ultrasound examinations, ensuring high-quality images, accurate positioning, patient comfort, and effective communication of findings to interpreting physicians. The schedule for this position would be 3-days, 10-hour shifts on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Requirements Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound or Sonography program and be registered by the ARDMS. Ability to work independently with very little supervision and exercise sound judgment Knowledge of healthcare regulations and preventative measures (HIPAA confidentiality, infection spread, etc.) Has working knowledge of anatomy and physiology as demonstrated in resulting images. Thoroughly understands views and settings necessary to acquire a diagnostic exam. As part of our operational needs, all positions may require occasional coverage at other locations within the region. Applicants should have reliable transportation and be comfortable with commuting to additional locations when necessary, sometimes with short notice. Certifications BLS Registered by the ARDMS in the state of MD Summary ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Competently operates ultrasound equipment to generate appropriate anatomic detail supporting a diagnostic exam. Effectively determines necessary probe arrangement to demonstrate anatomy or anatomic variations and measurements. Effectively enlists patient assistance to vary their position in order to complete the exam. Operates ultrasound equipment to obtain quality ultrasonic images. Positions patient and adjusts ultrasound equipment to the correct setting for each examination. Performs and records ultrasound diagnostic tests of all parts of the anatomy. Ensures the ultrasound exam is of acceptable diagnostic quality and records preliminary findings to assist in physician’s interpretations. Works with patients, physicians, and other staff members to accommodate needed exams in a timely manner. Assists physicians during interventional exams by performing scans or preparing the sterile field. Ensures that all equipment is kept clean and all precautions are taken to ensure that no cross-contamination occurs between patients. Communicates findings of the exam to interpreting physician. Understands all requirements for completing a thorough exam supporting the sonographer’s preliminary findings.
