Mobile Service TechnicianBEST is GROWING! We have exciting new opportunities that have been opened up in our Fleet Maintenance Department!We are now hiring for a Mobile Service Technician! The main responsibility in this role will be traveling to customer sites to safely and efficiently maintain a varied fleet of equipment associated with our company. This person will also be required to "float" to cover open spots with other service trucks as needed. This technician will primarily cover our Charlotte market, as well as the Spartanburg/Greenville SC area.Scheduled Shift:Monday - Thursday, 5A to 5P. There may be occasional overnight stays in this role (hotels provided), depending on the scope of work and location where work is being completed. The primary focus in this role will be PM's, tires, and minor repairs on both Class 8 Trucks and Trailers. Check out more details on this role below!Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesMake various adjustments, alignments and repairs to correct any vehicle deficienciesConduct inspections, test drives and diagnostic tests to determine the condition of the vehiclesTest engine safety and combustion control standards to comply with federal and state vehicle requirementsRecord services and repairs to maintain accurate vehicle recordsComplete preventative maintenance, install part upgrades, winterize vehicles and control corrosion to keep vehicles availableFollow operating instruction, troubleshoot breakdowns, maintain supplies, perform preventative maintenance and call for repairs to keep shop equipment operationalPlace orders and keep stock of inventory to ensure necessary supplies at handCollaborate with coworkers to get repairs done in a timely mannerStay up to date on industry advances by reading publication, talking with peers, continuing education and joining industry-related forumsElectrical repair and diagnosticsCompensation and BenefitsCompensation will be based upon experienceUniforms are providedAffordable insurance (medical, dental, vision and much more!)401(k) plan with a generous company matchPaid holidaysPaid vacationWeekly paychecks with direct depositJob RequirementsMust have a clean Motor Vehicle ReportMust be able to pass a background check (no priors within the last 7 years)CDL is preferredMust have thorough knowledge and experience with DOT and OSHA regulations and reporting requirementsMechanical aptitudeExperience in troubleshooting and repairs involving the most recent technologyElectrical repair and diagnosticsKnowledge of FMCSA maintenance guidelines and regulationsGeneral knowledge of preventative maintenance for Class 8 Tractor TrailersBasic computer skillsPrior trucking experience a plus
