PLATER III (IVD) – C SHIFT

We seek an experienced Plater III responsible for performing a wide range of plating and metal processing functions, including IVD, cadmium, nickel, anodizing, passivation, copper stripping, and other surface treatments. The candidate will work with limited supervision and be responsible for troubleshooting, equipment monitoring, and mentoring less experienced operators. This role supports production efficiency and product quality in line with aerospace industry standards. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Plating & Processing Processing to be ran are the following: Abrasive cleaning & Glass beading, Titanium Descaling (Hot Salt), Part Washing using Modified Alcohol, Aluminum Anodize Sorting, Copper strip, Strip Phosphate, Passivation, Electroplating (Cadmium & Nickel), Aluminum Anodizing, Titanium Anodizing, Chemical Conversion (Chromate), Ion Vapor Deposition (IVD), Phosphate-Fluoride, X‑Ray thickness. Perform various plating and cleaning processes including cadmium, nickel, anodizing, passivation, copper strip, grit blast, aqueous wash, and hot salt. Operate plating equipment such as spin dryers, hoists, bake ovens, and sandblasters. Handle chemical processing of parts per customer and internal specifications. Monitor plating tanks and safely transfer chemicals using pumps when necessary. Support waste reduction efforts and promote sustainability. Participate in and support HSE programs, goals, and required training. Report safety concerns and nonconformance immediately. Mentor and train other employees as directed. Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Inspect and monitor equipment daily, report malfunctions to Lead or Supervisor, and ensure all tools and machines are operated safely and maintained in good working condition. Quality & Compliance: Follow blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers to ensure product quality; meet all internal and customer plating specifications and standards; identify and escalate any nonconformance issues or deviations in process; interpret blueprints and plating specifications. Safety and Compliance Adhere and implement all company HSE policies, procedures, and practices. All employees are responsible for complying with federal, local, and state regulations, LISI Aerospace, and HSE procedures. All employees must attend all training provided and adhere to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, and comply with reporting requirements. All employees are required to report any known or suspected non‑conformance for company procedures or legal requirements immediately. Continuously seek opportunities to improve HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets and reporting progress. Implement and suggest waste elimination initiatives such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory duties. May assist in coaching and process teaching of trainees or less experienced personnel under management’s supervision. Qualifications Education and/or Experience High School diploma or equivalent. 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or metal processing (preferred). Experience in aerospace plating or familiarity with NADCAP standards is a plus. Safety Compliance Requirements Maintain either no facial hair or a NIOSH‑approved beard as per California Code Title 8, Section 5144(g)(1)(A) and pass an annual respirator fit test. Computer Skills Basic mainframe computer skills and familiarity with spreadsheet, word processing, and database systems. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend correspondence and basic technical procedures; read machine code; write basic reports and instructions; present information effectively. Mathematical Skills Apply basic mathematical concepts and calculations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and standard units of measurement. Reasoning Ability Define problems, collect data, establish facts, follow instructions in written and diagrammatic formats; apply problem‑solving techniques while prioritizing workload and tasks. Physical Demands, Work Environment, Health and Safety Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, sitting; eye‑hand coordination; repetitive hand and arm movements; manual dexterity; ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds. Visual and hearing requirements are within normal ranges. Work Environment Noise level is normally moderate to loud. Requires wearing PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or proper footwear. Participate in developing and promoting an HSE culture. Respect and enforce health, safety, and environmental rules. Correct or report malfunctions or risky situations promptly. Implement preventive actions to reduce environmental footprint and control risks. Participate in risk analysis, incident reviews, and HSE working groups as requested. Understand main health and safety risks and environmental impacts of the work scope. Familiar with site HSE policy and objectives. Propose improvements to working conditions and reduce environmental impact.
