Mobile Unit Services Coordinator - EHS, Pediatrics

Under the general supervision of the assigned ProgramManager, the Early Head Start Mobile Unit Services Coordinator is responsiblefor a designated service area within the Head Start program. This positioninterprets and applies program policies, procedures, and regulatoryrequirements. The role includes coordinating and performing a full range ofduties, such as reviewing, evaluating, and maintaining child records, andkeeping parents informed of their child's progress and any required follow-up.Assessments include clearly defined goals aligned with program objectives,along with documented plans for achieving those goals. In addition, the MobileUnit Services Coordinator provides direct instructional services to childrenthrough the mobile unit in the role of a teacher.
This is a limited position that may convert tocareer.
Salary Range: $56,200.00 - 106,200.00
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor's degree in childdevelopment, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Family ConsumerScience, Sociology, Psychology, Social Sciences, Social Work, or related field.
- Child Development Teacher'sPermit
- Required to hold validCalifornia driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance withlocal policies/procedures and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull NoticeProgram
- CPR, Basic First AidCertificate, must be updated as required (or must receive within 6 months ofhire)
- 2 years of experience in apublic or private organization or community development agency providing directdelivery of services to clients.
- 2 years of experience workingdirectly with 0-5 children in a teaching position, families, and staff in anearly care and education setting.
- Per funding agencyrequirements, all Early Head Start staff must complete background checks priorto hire and at least every five years that includes, sex offender registrycheck, State or FBI criminal history check, including fingerprint check, childabuse registry check.
- Understanding and use of theprinciples and practices of the ECE field, including reflective practice, andchildren who speak multiple languages. Knowledge in adult learning principles(preferred).
- Ability to communicateeffectively with families, Early Head Start staff, community resource agencies,consultants and volunteers to support families in locating and accessingappropriate community services as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft OfficeSuite; including Excel and have the ability to type at least 30 wpm.
- Communicate effectively withstaff and develop positive work relationships. Works collaboratively as a teamplayer with her/his staff, clients (children and parents) and otherprofessionals in the program/agency.
- Ability to use kitchenutensils and appliances safely for preparing and serving snacks. - Can betrained Required Ability to provide education, training opportunities, andpromote positive relationship building for all enrolled pregnant women,families and their infants and toddlers. Ability to conduct on-site stafftraining and parent if needed.
- Fluency and proficiency inEnglish, Excellent written and oral communication skills, detail oriented.Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
- Must meet state healthrequirements that include passing a physical examination as condition ofemployment, providing verification of COVID-19 vaccine, TB Clearance, and up todate with immunization
- Ability to prioritize. Soundorganizational and time management skills to manage high and varied activitylevels.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to carry children, up to 40 pounds, during eachworkday when necessary.
- Ability to engage in frequent bending, reaching, twistingand engage in moderate to frequent kneeling, crawling, and stooping whileobserving, or performing classroom activities.
- Ability to engage in frequent writing, typing on keyboards,and handling small objects (e.g. arts and crafts for children).
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time thatmay exceed an hour at a time. This includes sitting on the floor for extendedperiods (e.g. while engaging in child development activities during homevisits, classroom, and socialization sessions).
Preferred:
- Master's degree in child development or related area
- 1 year supervisory and/or management, and/or earlychildhood coaching experience in EHS or related program.
- 1 years' experience working with IDEA Part C
- Family Development Credential Training
- Knowledge and experience of the following program qualityassessment tools: Environmental Rating Scales (ERS) and CLASS. Coachesdemonstrate knowledge of tools by completion of 2-day observer training forCLASS and in-depth training for ERS tools (ECERS, ITERS, or FCCERS). Preferredexperience integrating the necessary tools and domains into their coachingpractices
- Required knowledge of the following ProfessionalDevelopment Pathways tools: California Infant & Toddlers and PreschoolLearning Foundations and Frameworks (Pre-K or Infant/Toddler as appropriate),Ages and Stages Questionnaire.
