Director of Engineering - Product Development

Job title: Director of Engineering – Product Development Location: Pleasanton, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Duration: Full-time Role Overview Meeru AI is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the development of our AI-native enterprise finance platform. You will own technical strategy, architecture, product delivery, and engineering execution while leading a distributed team of 15–20 engineers. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring expertise in SaaS product development, AI/ML integration, cloud architecture, and engineering team leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end product engineering, architecture, and technical roadmap. Build and scale a high-performing engineering team across the US and offshore. Design and develop secure, scalable multi‑tenant SaaS solutions with support for single‑tenant and on‑prem deployments. Drive AI/ML and LLM integration into enterprise products. Partner with Product to deliver high-quality releases on schedule. Establish engineering best practices, CI/CD, testing, observability, security, and operational excellence. Collaborate with Platform Engineering on cloud infrastructure, compliance, and reliability. Required Skills 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading engineering teams. Proven experience building and scaling B2B SaaS products from concept to production. Strong expertise in Python (FastAPI/Django/Flask), PostgreSQL, Redis, REST APIs, and distributed systems. Experience with AWS (Azure/GCP preferred), Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD. Hands‑on experience integrating AI/ML, LLMs, or GenAI into production applications. Strong background in multi‑tenant SaaS architecture, engineering leadership, Agile delivery, and stakeholder management. Preferred Qualifications Experience with enterprise finance, accounting, ERP, or FP&A platforms (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, Workday). Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, AI agent frameworks, and ML model deployment. Experience leading startup engineering teams through rapid growth.
