Job Title: Electrical Assembler Job Description
The Electrical Assembler evaluates, assembles, tests, and maintains electrical and electronic systems and components, with a primary focus on installing and supporting electrical parts on aerial lifts mounted onto truck bodies. This role combines hands-on mechanical and electrical work, troubleshooting, and fabrication in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities

• Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus to restore proper operation.
• Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications to support assembly and repair work.
• Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics accurately.
• Advise leadership on the continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus when safety or performance is compromised.
• Perform minor troubleshooting to isolate electrical problems and determine appropriate repair actions.
• Perform repairs involving minor mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems as needed.
• Identify parts that need to be repaired or replaced during inspections and diagnostic activities.
• Locate and identify replacement parts in manuals and prepare requisitions for required materials.
• Select and provide appropriate tools to perform assigned repair and assembly tasks safely and efficiently.
• Observe all safety precautions and procedures required by the company while performing duties.
• Use and wear all required safety equipment, including personal protective equipment, at all times.
• Report any unsafe acts, conditions, or equipment discovered while performing work.
• Clean and maintain the work area to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.
• Participate in general labor and production activities related to electrical assembly and installation on aerial lifts.
• Assist with installation, calibration, and testing of valves, wiring, and other electrical and mechanical components.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks as needed to support production and repair operations.
• Operate hand and power tools, soldering equipment, and fault-testing instruments in a safe and effective manner.
• Collaborate with team members to repair and maintain equipment, sharing information and best practices.
• Work independently when required to complete tasks within established timelines and quality standards.
• Perform other related duties as required to support production, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

• Basic knowledge of industrial wiring and power distribution.
• Basic knowledge of automotive electrical systems.
• Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds safely.
• Ability to use hand and power tools to perform minor repairs and assembly tasks.
• Ability to work effectively in a group or team to repair and maintain equipment.
• Ability to work unsupervised in certain conditions while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment subject to heat, cold, noise, dust, and odors.
• Ability to work shifts as required by the company.
• Forklift operator certification will be required.
• At least 2 years' experience as an Electrical Technician preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
• Good communication skills to share information, document work, and coordinate with team members.
• Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering equipment, and fault-testing instruments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform mechanical assembly, repair, and general labor tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
• Competence in electrical assembly and electrical wiring in a production or shop environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Two-year Electrical, Technical, or related degree preferred.
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship is a plus.
• Experience with installation and maintenance of electrical parts on aerial lifts or similar equipment.
• Experience with valves, pneumatics, hydraulics, and related mechanical systems.
• Experience in automotive repair or engine-related work.
• Experience with welding and fabrication in a production or shop setting.
• Experience with calibration and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical components.
• Ability to adapt to changing production needs, including potential second shift work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in assembly and repair tasks.

Work Environment
This position is based in a shop environment within a manufacturing setting, where you work around active production equipment, electrical systems, and mechanical assemblies. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with approximately 48 hours of work expected per week. There is potential for a second shift schedule, Monday through Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., depending on operational needs. The environment can involve exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and odors, and you use a variety of hand and power tools, welding and fabrication equipment, and electrical testing instruments. You follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate safety equipment and attire to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
