Job Title Behavioral Health Care Manager II Locations CA – Cerritos, Walnut Creek, Woodland Hills Employment Type Virtual full‑time with required in‑person training sessions; maximum flexibility and autonomy. Responsibilities Use appropriate screening criteria and clinical judgment to assess member needs and ensure access to medically necessary, cost‑effective behavioral healthcare in accordance with utilization management clinical guidelines and contracts. Refer cases to peer reviewers as appropriate. Coordinate, implement, and monitor psychiatric and substance abuse treatment plans, evaluating outcomes to promote quality member results and effective use of benefits and community resources. Serve as a resource to other behavioral health care managers. Assist with complex cases and participate in inter‑ and intra‑departmental teams, projects, and initiatives. Minimum Requirements MA/MS in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral health field, or equivalent education and at least 3 years of experience with facility‑based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. Active, unrestricted license (e.g., RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LBA, LMFT, Clinical Psychologist) or other state‑approved licensure within scope. Licensure is required; for states that do not require licensure, a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) is acceptable if the role is limited to approvals and reviews of ABA services with licensed staff supervision. Prior case management/utilization management experience with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases. Prior managed‑care experience. Preferred Skills and Experience California licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, Psychiatric RN, or Clinical Psychologist). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook). Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies. Prior utilization management experience with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases. Salary and Benefits Salary range: $78,660.00 – $117,990.00.
