Therapist - Speech Language Pathologist

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized speech-language therapy services to patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support patient recovery and improve functional outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients' speech, language, cognition, and swallowing functions using standardized assessments.
• Develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical observations.
• Document diagnosis, treatment interventions, and patient responses in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Communicate regularly with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members regarding progress and treatment strategies.
• Provide counseling and education to patients and their families to facilitate recovery and manage expectations.
• Supervise and support CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold active license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Missouri.
• Be certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) with CCC-SLP.
• Possess a minimum of 1 year of speech therapy experience; new graduates with Level II experience accepted.
• Demonstrate experience in LTC or rehabilitation settings.
• Maintain adherence to ASHA and state practice acts, ethics, and code of conduct.
• Have strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
