Position: BioInformatics Experts
Type: Contract
Compensation: $90$110/hour
Location: Remote
Role Responsibilities
- Complete realistic multi-step scientific data-analysis tasks in bioinformatics .
- Write original bioinformatics questions with exact and objective answers.
- Choose and anonymize data from public archives like GEO SRA/ENA ArrayExpress PRIDE PDB MGnify or your unpublished lab data for model analysis.
- Use scientific software code and command-line tools to generate reproducible analyses and structured outputs.
- Develop a Jupyter validation notebook using Python or R to reproduce correct answers.
- Interpret results in the context of biological or translational questions communicating assumptions uncertainty and conclusions clearly.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Masters or PhD in bioinformatics computational biology genomics statistical genetics quantitative biology or a related field.
- Hands-on experience analyzing sequencing and omics data including RNA-seq WGS/WES variant calling metagenomics or proteomics .
- Experience with tools like samtools bcftools bedtools BWA Bowtie2 BLAST Python ( pandas Biopython pysam ) or R/Bioconductor ( DESeq2 edgeR limma GenomicRanges ).
- Ability to write and run Jupyter notebooks that reproduce work exactly.
- Clear precise scientific writing.
Preferred
- Access to unpublished or private datasets you can share.
- Deep knowledge of a niche area such as a non-model organism unusual assay or specialized genomic interpretation.
