Structural Engineer / Project Manager -Lead Building Projects That Stand Apart

You’re not looking to be just another “calc and details” engineer. You want to lead the work, own the client relationships, and set the standard for how structural projects get delivered.

In this role, you’ll drive business development for structural building projects, manage your own portfolio of clients, and run projects from concept through construction administration.

You’ll lead structural design for a variety of building types, guiding Project Engineers and BIM specialists while still staying close enough to the work to keep your technical edge sharp.

What You'll Work On

You’ll be the go-to leader for building-related structural projects, from first conversation to final punch list:

• Structural design of new and existing building projects
• Client-facing building projects with ongoing relationships
• Project budgets and delivery for structural assignments
• Design documents, structural calculations, and specifications
• Construction-phase structural support and administration
• Quality control reviews for structural deliverables
• Oversight of Project Engineers and BIM specialists
• Growth and management of a personal client portfolio

You’ll apply your working knowledge of structural analysis and design software and Revit to keep projects efficient, coordinated, and buildable.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading business development efforts for structural building projects
• Developing and managing a portfolio of ongoing structural clients
• Serving as project manager on structural building projects
• Managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets for structural work
• Performing and leading structural design for various building projects
• Producing and overseeing design documents, calculations, and specifications
• Managing and mentoring Project Engineers and BIM specialists
• Performing quality control reviews on structural design deliverables
• Providing construction administration services for structural projects
• Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on track
• Communicating clearly with clients, design teams, and contractors
• Tackling other project-related responsibilities as assigned

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering from a U.S. accredited college
• Master of Science in Structural Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university preferred
• Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in structural design of buildings and related structures
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required
• Illinois Structural Engineer licensure preferred
• Working knowledge of structural analysis and design programs
• Working knowledge of Revit
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Applicable U.S.-based work experience

Important Requirements

Hybrid home/office-based role.

Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (Structural focus) and Professional Engineer licensure required.
