We are hiring a passionate dependable entry level cook/baker – training on our specific menu items will be provided. About Kazba Cafe We are The Kazba, a new Cafe in Oldsmar/Westchase area. We are inclusive, fun, innovative, and our goal is to provide a great experience in a Moroccan atmosphere with a choice from a varied menu of Moroccan fusion food items and specialty coffee drinks and refreshers. Job Title Entry Level Cook/Baker Job Type Part-time Location Kazba Cafe Pay $13 to $13 per hour Job Overview At Kazba Cafe, we pride ourselves with providing healthy, home‑made style foods and baked goods, mostly made from scratch in our kitchen. The cook position is essential to our establishment and the success of our café. Are you passionate about cooking and baking? Do you have a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are seeking a dependable Entry Level Cook/Baker to join our team. Previous experience is appreciated but not required. Training on our specific menu items will be provided, which include several Moroccan dishes (like tagines), Mediterranean dips and ingredients for our specialty sandwiches and pizzas. This position will also be trained in making specialty baked goods like Moroccan macaroons, marzipan dates, and other varieties of cookies and French pastries (ready to bake). Responsibilities Assist with food preparation, including cutting, chopping, and mixing ingredients Follow recipes and cooking techniques as instructed by the Head Chef Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Maintain a clean and organized work area Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed Receive food deliveries and organize dry and refrigerated items appropriately Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines Opening and closing procedures for the kitchen ensuring everything is clean and tidy daily Replenish the service line with all needed items for order preparations Take initiative when necessary Requirements Strong passion for cooking and baking Basic knife skills, basic food knowledge and cooking skills such as sautéing, roasting, oven‑baking Ability to handle (clean, cut, marinate…) different types of meats (chicken, beef, ground beef…) Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time Prior cooking or baking experience is a plus, but not required Must complete Food Handler certificate within 30 days of hire or provide unexpired certificate Please note that we are an equal opportunity employer.
