Westmont, IL (Hybrid) | $130K - $160K + Bonus

My client is a global engineering and manufacturing leader in construction and infrastructure systems. They are hiring a Regional HR Manager to lead Human Resources across their US and Canadian operations. You will partner with North American leadership and Global HR and lead a team covering HR operations, payroll, benefits, retirement plans, and labor relations support.

\n

\n

This is a senior, strategic seat. Your team handles day-to-day processing. You own the strategy, the controls, and the hard calls.

\n

\n

What you will own

\n

\n
• Regional HR strategy, workforce planning, org design, and compensation planning
\n
• Leading and developing a team covering HR operations, US/Canadian payroll, benefits, and retirement
\n
• Complex employee relations, investigations, significant discipline, and terminations
\n
• Governance over payroll controls, reconciliations, segregation of duties, and audit readiness
\n
• Benefit strategy and renewal negotiations across US health & welfare, 401(k), Canadian benefits, and Canadian pension plans
\n
• Oversight of union and field workforce matters, including collective bargaining support, union payroll, and certified payroll
\n
• HR and payroll system implementations, vendor selection, and process improvement
\n
• Partnering with Finance, Operations, Safety, Legal, and project leadership
\n

\n

What you bring

\n

\n
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in HR management
\n
• Experience supporting employees in both the US and Canada
\n
• Deep working knowledge of payroll, benefits, and retirement plans, not just generalist ER
\n
• Exposure to field-union labor, certified payroll, prevailing wage, fringe benefits, or union audits
\n
• A track record of leading teams and implementing or improving HR/payroll systems
\n
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Labor Relations, Finance, or related field
\n

Nice to have

• Construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or engineering background in a multi-site, field-based environment
\n
• Union and non-union workforce experience
\n
• ADP, Paycor, or Canadian payroll platform experience
\n
• SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or CHRL
\n
