A high-volume, culture-driven restaurant concept is looking for an Executive Chef to lead our kitchen at one of the most culturally significant and high-energy dining concepts in Detroit.

This is a full-service restaurant rooted in the celebration of African American culture, delivering authentic soul food with exceptional hospitality in a vibrant, high-energy environment. Day in the Life:

• Oversee all back-of-house operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency
• Lead, train, and develop kitchen staff in a high-volume, team-driven environment
• Maintain strict food quality, presentation, and sanitation standards
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations
• Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls to drive profitability
• Uphold cleanliness and organization across all kitchen and facility areas
• Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability
• Maintain composure and leadership during peak service and high-pressure situations
• Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless guest experiences
• Foster a culture of professionalism, integrity, and continuous improvement

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a Kitchen Manager, Executive Sous Chef, or similar leadership role in a high-volume, full-service environment
• Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced, professional, team-centric kitchen
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate, follow through, and develop teams
• High attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and operational standards
• Excellent communication skills and ability to give and receive feedback
• Calm, level-headed approach in high-pressure environments
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• High integrity, humility, and accountability
• Ability to uphold and enforce high standards across all areas of the operation
