Legal Secretary

Robert Half

A well-established law firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Secretary to support a busy team of attorneys. This role is ideal for someone with a strong litigation background who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to litigation attorneys
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
  • E-file documents in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines
  • Manage and maintain attorney calendars, including court dates, deadlines, hearings, and depositions
  • Coordinate meetings, depositions, mediations, and travel arrangements
  • Handle time entry, billing support, and expense reports
  • Maintain and organize case files (electronic and physical)
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors in a professional manner
  • Assist with trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, binders, and trial materials

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a litigation legal secretary or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules, filing procedures, and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and document management systems
  • Experience with e-filing platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
