Senior Tax Accountant

Senior Tax Accountant Position Summary Seeking an experienced tax professional to join a fast-paced public accounting environment supporting individual and small business clients. This role is ideal for someone independent, client-focused, and comfortable managing complex tax matters in a deadline-driven setting. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review individual and small business tax returns Manage a high-volume 1040 tax practice Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters and ongoing needs Handle IRS notices, misapplied payments, and related tax resolution issues Support clients with practical, solution-oriented guidance Assist junior staff and contribute during the busy season as needed Maintain accurate client records and documentation Required Qualifications Credentials CPA strongly preferred EA may be considered with strong public accounting experience Experience 7–10 years of accounting and tax experience preferred Strong background in public accounting required Experience with: Individual tax returns Small business tax engagements Client-facing responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment Skills & Work Style Independent and proactive approach to problem-solving Strong communication and client management skills Comfortable handling challenging or time-sensitive tax issues Team-oriented with a willingness to support firm operations during peak periods Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Technical Skills Experience with UltraTax and Thomson Reuters tools preferred Proficiency with QuickBooks for small and mid-sized business clients Preferred Qualifications Experience in a high-volume individual tax practice Ability to mentor junior staff Interest in workflow improvement and automation tools Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary: $90,000–$120,000 depending on experience PTO and paid holidays Long-term growth and leadership opportunities Flexible work environment based on performance and business needs Work Arrangement Full-time permanent position On-site presence preferred during onboarding and training Hybrid flexibility available after onboarding based on performance and trust Flexible schedule environment focused on meeting deadlines and client expectations Work Environment Fast-paced public accounting setting Collaborative and team-oriented culture Opportunity to work closely with leadership and take on increasing responsibility Strong and growing client demand with consistent workflow #J-18808-Ljbffr
