Status: Full-Time or Part-Time

The Overnight Donut Fryer is responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality donuts and other fried bakery items each night to ensure our bakery is fully stocked and ready for customers each morning. This position plays a vital role in delivering one of Save More Marketplace's signature fresh bakery offerings.

In addition to bakery production, the Overnight Donut Fryer serves as the primary overnight team member responsible for helping maintain the security and safety of the building while preparing the bakery for the next business day.

The ideal candidate takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality products, works efficiently with minimal supervision, and maintains the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organization.

• Prepare, fry, finish, glaze, frost, fill, decorate, and package donuts according to company recipes and production standards.
• Follow daily production schedules to ensure the bakery is fully stocked prior to store opening.
• Produce consistent, fresh, and visually appealing bakery products.
• Monitor product quality throughout the production process.
• Minimize waste through proper production planning and product handling.
• Ensure finished products are properly packaged, labeled, and ready for display.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and bakery procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized production area throughout the shift.
• Properly clean fryers, equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
• Monitor fryer oil quality and notify management when maintenance is needed.
• Follow all temperature control and food handling guidelines.

• Safely operate commercial fryers and bakery equipment.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on bakery equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly.

• Monitor ingredient and supply levels throughout the shift.
• Notify management of products that need to be reordered.
• Properly store and rotate ingredients using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices.

• Help maintain the security of the building during overnight hours.
• Conduct periodic walkthroughs of the sales floor and building while production allows.
• Monitor the store for unusual activity and report concerns to management or law enforcement when appropriate.
• Ensure exterior doors remain secured and verify the building is properly locked throughout the overnight shift.
• Follow all company opening, closing, alarm, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain a safe work environment by identifying and reporting potential safety hazards.

• Communicate production needs and product availability with bakery leadership.
• Assist with additional bakery production and packaging duties as needed.
• Help ensure the bakery is fully stocked and customer-ready for the start of business each day.

Requirements

• Ability to work overnight shifts.

• Previous bakery, grocery, food production, or restaurant experience preferred.
• Experience operating commercial fryers or bakery equipment.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Experience decorating or finishing bakery products.

• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, twist, kneel, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Work safely around hot oil, commercial fryers, ovens, and bakery equipment.
• Work in both warm production areas and refrigerated environments as needed.
