Role Description The Shop Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Goodlettsville, TN, responsible for maintaining and repairing company equipment and vehicles used in concrete construction operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine preventative maintenance, and completing repairs on trucks, trailers, small engines, and construction equipment. The Shop Mechanic will keep maintenance records up to date, ensure tools and parts are organized, and help maintain a safe and efficient shop environment. This role also involves collaborating with field teams to prioritize repairs, inspecting equipment before and after use, and following company and safety guidelines. Qualifications Strong mechanical skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trucks, trailers, small engines, and construction equipment. Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and basic welding or fabrication techniques. Ability to read and interpret manuals, maintenance schedules, and work orders accurately. Familiarity with safety practices, OSHA standards, and proper use of tools and shop equipment. Basic computer skills for maintaining service records and communicating with team members. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Previous experience as a mechanic or equipment technician, preferably in construction or heavy equipment. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in automotive or diesel technology is a plus. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving and background requirements.
