Staff Accountant

Clark Companies, a prominent leader in the design and construction of high-end outdoor athletic facilities and a trusted aggregate supplier serving the Central New York region, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Delhi, NY. Position Overview: The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with month end and year end reconciliation. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. Key Responsibilities: Assist with daily accounting tasks and data entry. Utilize spreadsheets, reports, and accounting software to support financial operations. Perform month-end reconciliations and journal entries. Maintain general ledger accuracy across assigned accounts. Provide general support to the accounting department, including assistance with special projects, audits, and tax filings. Serve as backup for the Accounting Administrative Assistant as needed. Perform and assist with additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Skills & Knowledge: Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and reporting. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Willingness and ability to learn new software systems. Valid driver's license. Experience & Education: Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 1 – 2 years of accounting experience preferred. Solid understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting. Salary Range: $41,000 - $65,000 annually (commensurate with experience). Schedule: Monday – Friday. 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
