Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring procedures are conducted safely and accurately.
• Prepare and process specimens for lab testing in accordance with established practices and procedures.
• Verify patient demographic information and label tubes in the presence of the patient to ensure specimen accuracy and proper documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of specimen collection and patient information.
• Adhere to safety protocols, policies, and dress code to maintain a professional and secure environment.
• Support organizational goals by demonstrating leadership behaviors, process excellence, and confidentiality in handling patient information.
• Travel across multiple locations to cover patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy needs with minimal notice, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Exercise good judgment and make decisions based on established procedures in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.

Required Skills

• Proven ability to perform error-free blood collection, including pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate openly and transparently with patients and team members.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and specimen labeling.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
• Capable of working in a high-volume environment while maintaining quality standards.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred, with specific requirements applicable in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment for at least two years is preferred.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to cover multiple locations, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
• Travel required to support staffing needs across various sites.
