Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)

Description: Please ensure traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team" where there will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract to take a position with Ochsner Health, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event were to occur. You should not apply for a role at Ochsner Health if you are not comfortable with the above.

Unit Info: Patient Diagnoses: Multi-trauma, seizure, GSW, Falls, TBI, stroke, sepsis, psych, epidural hematomas, epidural hemorrhage, cerebral edema, Ortho related trauma- not elective, encephalopathy. Neuro Surgery experience is also required. Major Trauma unit. Special Procedures/Unit Details: Craniotomy, Spinal Fusions, ORIF, muscle flaps, skin grafts, AKA, BKA, IM nails, external fixators, spinal stimulators. Every other holiday. Can be pulled to all other inpatient units. Unable to guarantee any specific scheduling requests (ex: block scheduling) schedule as needed per unit. Special Equipment: Traction, external fixators, trapeze, PCA pumps, JP drains, wound vacs, Chest tubes, ortho braces, hemo vacs, central lines, trach, PEG, NG tubes.

Required Certs and Skills: BLS, Blood product administration, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Pre/Post Neuro surgery, TBIs, Ortho trauma, Surgical drains, Chest tubes, Isolation precautions/PPE, Med/Surg, Nasal Cannula, Oral suctioning, PCA, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Pre/Post neurosurgery, Spinal cord injury, Starting and maintaining IVs, Telemetry - remote monitoring, Traumatic Brain injury, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Ortho surgery, Neuro surgery.

Travel Compliance: Facility does not accept local travelers. Must be over 65 miles (address on drivers license to site address) Must have 2 years experience in specialty for all locations. (New Orleans operating room req. 3 years) NO CALL IN! RTO must be on profile and brought up in the interview or there is a high chance offer's will be rescinded. Compact or LA license in hand upon submittal Allied Candidates booked with pending license - Candidate must apply for Allied Health licensure within 72 hours of signing Orientation held 5 days a week References: Not required for submission, however 2 Manager/Supervisor references will be required to obtain clearance to start contract. Recruiter, please obtain Manager/Supervisor contact information prior to submission. Charge RNs are NOT acceptable. PDF format AHA certifications are required AWHONN Intermediate is required for L D RN CPI required for all CNA ER nurses must have CPI, or be able to get it before start. This cert is somewhat difficult to get, so please be prepared for this. NURSYS Reports for RNs must be sent with profile. Please ensure that the NURSYS is up to date (within 4 weeks of submission date). Resources who worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from Ochsner Health System for 1 full year before they can return as travel. Modules: Modules are billable Modules are completed during orientation and factored in orientation hours Modules are recorded via facility.
