Description

• Assess patients of all ages utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods to evaluate communication and swallowing needs.
• Create customized treatment strategies that cater to both immediate goals and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing improvement.
• Work collaboratively with a team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families, to ensure cohesive care plans.
• Provide education to patients and families to facilitate progress outside of therapy sessions.
• Participate in evaluations and interventions for occasional inpatient speech therapy, ensuring continuity throughout the care process.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation that meets state and federal guidelines.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through continued education and networking with peers.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in preparation for ASHA certification.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
