Phlebotomist

Position Summary: This position is expected to function independently or with minimal supervision in all laboratory areas and duties including but not limited to, performing phlebotomy, specimen processing, and clerical duties, all of which are to be performed in a timely and efficient manner. Display competence in performing all the job expectations described within this job description.

Responsibilities:

• Front Office Functions
• Phlebotomy
• Back Office
• Processing Specimens
• Computer Utilization

Qualifications:

• Education/Training: High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• Licensure/Certification: Must obtain within six (6) months of hire; phlebotomy certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the National Phlebotomy Association (NPA), American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) or any certification program requiring a phlebotomy rotation with a minimum of 100 patient collections.
• Experience: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong computer proficiency, demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others, ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities, excellent phlebotomy skills for both pediatric and geriatric patients.
