Electrician

Job Overview This role involves general maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment used in the park, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities General maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment used in the park. Installation of all wiring to code, troubleshooting systems ranging from 24 to 600 volts AC, and adhering to all established safety and environmental regulations while interfacing with other shops, areas, and customers throughout the park. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of general lighting and power circuits and many miscellaneous electrical devices used throughout the park. Install additional lighting and receptacle circuitry in existing structures, as well as in new additions to the park. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of commercial electrical appliances used in food preparation. Use computer to open and close work orders. Use multi‑meters and other testing devices as required. Assist leadership team members as assigned. Complete tasks as assigned within required time constraints as directed by the leadership team. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Currently have or ability to obtain within 90 days a general electrician license or a C10 Contractor’s license. Minimum four years experience in electrical maintenance and new electrical construction, primarily in commercial applications. Participation in a vocational or electrical apprentice program required. Have and maintain a valid state driver's license; visiting students and military must have a valid driver's license from state of residency and be able to provide a copy of the DMV report. Must be able to meet requirements to drive SeaWorld vehicles. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any state or local electrical code. Strong background in commercial wiring. Understand the workings of motor starters, lighting systems, ballast, HPS, metal halide, neon. Thorough knowledge of motor control centers. Proficient in reading single line diagrams and schematics. Electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to organize and plan daily workloads as assigned without direct supervision. Able to read, write, and speak in English; comprehend simple to complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Good computer skills. Strong mathematical skills. Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Able to walk, sit, stand, stoop, climb, push, pull, bend, squat and regularly use hands to reach, grasp, handle, and feel. Able to work indoors and in outside weather conditions (direct sunlight, wet, and/or humid). Able to occasionally perform job at heights of up to 350 feet (Sky Tower), but usually less than 80 feet (camera towers, exhibits, stadium catwalks). High school diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
