Human Resources Generalist

Zignego Ready Mix in Waukesha, Wisconsin is seeking a dynamic, proactive Human Resources Generalist to join the onsite team and help drive HR initiatives forward. This role partners with leadership to foster positive employee relations, ensure compliance with employment laws, and support talent development, organizational growth, and change management. The ideal candidate will balance strategic planning with hands‑on HR operations to help shape a thriving workplace. Responsibilities Manage end-to-end talent acquisition processes. Source candidates through ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems). Conduct interviews. Onboard new hires with engaging employee orientation programs. Oversee employee evaluation and performance management initiatives to promote continuous development. Recognize high performance. Administer benefits programs, including benefits administration. Manage workers' compensation claims. Manage leave management such as FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act). Ensure compliance with applicable laws. Maintain accurate HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data collection and entry. Facilitate employee relations by managing conflict resolution. Conduct investigations. Promote a positive work environment aligned with organizational values. Support organizational design efforts through strategic planning. Support change management initiatives that enhance efficiency and employee engagement. Ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards. Assist in implementing safety protocols across the organization. Requirements Extensive knowledge of human capital management principles, employment & labor law, and affirmative action planning. Proven experience in talent acquisition, training & development, succession planning, and performance management. Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple HR initiatives simultaneously. Proficiency in HR sourcing tools such as Lever, Taleo, Paychex, Dayforce, or ADP; experience with HRIS systems. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels and manage employee relations confidently. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while demonstrating strong conflict management skills. Familiarity with benefits administration processes including payroll systems like Kronos or Paylocity; knowledge of contracts related to employment is advantageous. Experience working with social media management for employer branding or recruitment purposes is a plus.
